I have no issue with people buying overseas and doing the freight forwarding thing. I make no assertions that i am cheaper or a more viable alternative to those options. However, i personally or my partner travel overseas regularly and I can see the gap between the local market prices and US prices.

If people dont wish to purchase from me thats fine. I post an item for sale and if i dont get any hits it goes to ebay. Either way i get a sale and whoever buys it saves some money versus Australian retail.

Chockstone is a forum for people who generally climb or enjoy the outdoors. I dont sell car parts or computer parts etc on here (nor anywhere else for that matter). As above if people prefer to buy from the US and freight forward and reap the savings and wear the risks (if only minor) good on them. I cater only for those that want to save a few $ and the hassle.

For the record ive sold more than half of the "NEW" items ive posted on chockstone and have never had any complaints about the authenticity or quality of the items. I even go climbing and have made friends with some of these people.

I know where youre coming from as far as buying from overseas, but not everyone is as savvy or has the time to worry about ordering overseas buying overseas and organising freight. Surely you can see the simplicity of making a local/ national call or email and saying i want to buy the tent where can i pickup/ send the cash to?

The tent is now on ebay, if you would like to buy it directly and there are no bids on it im more than happy to do that.
