I don't dispute GPS's have their uses.

However, two recent experiences with GPS geeks makes me wonder whether we should try and invent a "Darwin Award" equivalent (both of whom are or maybe were good friends):

#1: Driving to Araps with GPS geek insisting on plugging it to my fuking windscreen. Drive drive drive blah blah blah....oh oh....GPS geek needs to take a pee!!!!!...but don't worry he tells me there is a dirt road 2km ahead where we can discreetly pull off (ha ha I know what you are thinking). I ignored GPS geek and pulled OVER immediately.

#2: Port Augusta with iphone man and looking for a local landmark....iphone man insisting he can gps search it...iphone man starts driving erratically cos his phone ain't working and I begin to ask "Can't we just ask human, there are lots of specimens around".

"No no I just need to type it properly"

"But we just drove past 7 people - all of whom would know where we need to get to..." End of story we did ask human who gave us correct directions...two minutes later iphone man...."hey look it works"...when it finally confirmed human's directions.
