Yeah, I'll second that. I bought a pair of Goretex pants at Kathmandu six years ago for $89. Since then I've used them for five seasons of mountaineering in NZ (climbed Mt Tasman and Mt Aspiring in them - as well as numerous other peaks), ski toured and resort skiied in them in Australia and France. I've been pretty tough on them including much glissading that turned into nasty bum-sliding and stabbing my crampons through them and into my leg in some ill-advised ice climbing adventures.

They've held up amazingly well. I've re-treated them with gore-tex waterproof stuff twice and they're in awesome condition - I think Kathmandu often gets an overly bad rap. Given some of their stuff is junk, but then some expensive stuff is junk too - I bought a pair of Five Ten Mountain Masters that completely disintegrated in two months - I regret that $200 more.
