Great stuff, thanks everyone.

I'll probably go the 60m with the mind of not being surprised if I have to replace it a little earler. As shmalec mentioned, if I end up doing more top rope than expected I could invest in a workhorse, in the long run ropes aren"t that expensive considering the years they can last.

Jac mentioned spectacular rope drag, yep already been there and that was after extending most runners; just something I gotta learn to do better. My climbing partner uses a 10 or 10.5mm rope, would using it with my 10, as doubles, be excessive? Or should this really be kept for the 9mm and under sizes?

It was also good to hear from VM about the relevance of fall factor and how it relates to real world use vs usual sheath wear. Knowing about it and understanding it (fall factor) doesn't necessarily follow one another closely.
