No, it doesn't. And for the record, my take is that the guy was trying to hit a guitar with said hammer, but in the commotion, unfortunately, contact with a person was made. But I couldn't stand bumping into people at the crag in the days/weeks afterwards (even years, now) and hearing a rumoured synopsis of the events along the lines of "those poor guys and gals, enjoying a pleasant guitar circle around a little campfire, in the true Arapiles spirit, when some psycho weekenders descended upon them with no warning and intent to kill... tut, tut, tut." No, folks, that's not what happened. The obnoxiousness, the taunts, the mob-mentality, the baiting, the slimey selfishness etc. etc (I could fill the page with adjectives) of said 'victims' makes my blood boil to this day. It is unfortunate that a guy with a shorter fuse than most of us happened to be around, and lost it in an inappropriate manner, while a campground of folks (myself included) lay awake in their beds wishing they were less sensible, so that they may do something rash themselves.
Anyway, illegal campfires at the Pines... very uncool indeed. |
