They are probably M10 bolts with the heads ground down a bit so brackets fit. Were they really undersized?

The County - can it be dragged into the 21st century? A lot of the bolts are getting old - need replacing at some stage. I don't really buy Macca's argument, u-bolts are superior, but I have a soft spot for the type of climbing there, but is it just nostalgia? Could it be made a kind of living museum of the 80's and 90's Aus climbing scene, by only replacing carrots with stainless carrots/stainless glue-in bolts?
