I am definitely a fan of lightweight and have cut things right down for a few long adventure races (incl 8 day trans himalaya) however... Australia may not be that cold but there is a good reason that WLGore test many things here - it's cold and wet. I've always make sure I have a good rain jacket that is waterproof with a hood.
Have a look at Ray Jardine's website - lightweight hiking became his passion long after SLCD's/friends. |
