I have been at rock hardware today and asked Steve what he thought about this site and all the posts looking to or purchasing gear from o/s . He said he doesn't look at the site anymore as he was abused by one poster re his position on importation of gear . As I see it he has to pay duty on importing gear , wear currency fluctuations (20% this year) then add gst to all his stock very hard with that to compete with mail in . to his credit he still sponsors this site but you really have to wonder why. He offers really good service and he and other australian retailers who carry stocks of gear really should be supported by climbers |
