I have recently come to the opinion that it's better to ignore the forecast whenever it doesn't suit.
In the last year of heading outdoors on average twice a week, I have only been totally rained out on 2 occasions (ie no climbing). This is generally because: a) the forecasters can get it wrong ("chance of" leaves an awful lot of conditions open) and the poor weather hits a day early or a day late; but mainly b) you can usually find something dry and worthwhile in a given area.
Now I tend use the forecast in deciding where to go (ie where will give the best likelihood of dryness) rather than dictating when to climb.
A healthy disregard is all that's needed. :)
