I don't think that was it. It may be similar but the stuff I used performed OK in the wet (my mum put me onto it and she used it to seal the cement in a fishpond).

It was a white liquid but when painted on became clear - and for some reason I seem to remember it smelt faintly of Aquadhere of all things.

Anyway the extent of my research into topic was:

1. Chip route with uncles woodturning tools. Ruin uncles woodturning tools (uncle has never forgiven me - it is the thing of which we never speak).

2. Ask mum for technical advice (1990's version of chockstone?)

3. Buy shit from hardware

4. Paint said shit on powdery nonsense chips.

5. Climb said "route".

I should also add that when I said earlier that it was "water based" I only said so to give the impression that I was knowledgeable on such matters. Truth is I have no f---in clue.
