Hardrock in the city has a few plastic cracks (19, 20) and one corner route (17, hands around the edge, feet on small holds) you can train laybacking on.
For a classic layback climb close to Melbourne, try Hadrian ** 12m 16 at Werribee Gorge. Definitely top rope it while you are learning...
I've always been ok at laybacking, which I think comes from my years of rowing. Maybe you could try a rowing machine in the gym. |
