The original (incorporated) BCC was started largely by Matt Roper and Bob Cowan and was intended to cover people going outside climbing, but also to assist with a proposal to the Wodonga Shire Council to aid in a Rec' Sporting Grant for the Wodonga Stadium to put up a climbing wall (to show that there was community support for the activity). We used to meet above Mtn Designs when it was located near Spotlight in Albury and have weekly climbing meets out at the Rock, Mt Pilot and Buffalo (mainly) and produce a semi-regular newsletter that went into Argus (VCC) and into the local shope etc. We also used to take off to Point Perp, Araps, the Blueys, Nowra and the Gramps once a year. Was a fun club and I think in its heyday attracted around 60 members...I remember some of the club trips to the Rock being quite busy. Later on the BCC became incorporated under the Vic Climbing Club (VCC) as the northeastern chapter of the VCC which was great and an easier option also. I would suggest going down this route again, as why build another bridge? Becoming a sub group of the VCC would also be great in that the BCC members would have access to those trips away that BCC members do not have the expertise to run such as basic mountaineering on Feathertop. Anyway, there has always been a desire for similar, especially given CSU and Wodonga TAFE's outdoor rec focus and the students that these courses attract, the only issue is finding a driver who has the time, passion and committment to see it last...unfortunately the orginal drivers (I was one) have either moved, started families or other 'life' things have gotten in the way...c'est la vie. I think that covers it all, but let me know if you need clarification on certain points. Cheers, Paulie

Post Edit: Bill Andrews (BA on this site) helped us out a lot in those days.
