Hook up with one of the aid climbers in your area and learn on the job. Pretty much anyone would be happy to take a potential aid climber under their wing. Having someone run you through the finer points is far superior to trying to learn via the intartubes. Having the voice of experience coming from over your shoulder as you proceed up a climb is a valuable learning tool. That voice will be coming from someone who is jugging up beside you.
Yes, placement confidence comes quickly when you can eyeball every piece as you place it and watch what happens as you weight it. |
