With the breakdown of fats, the very last step leads to an odd numbering of carbons in the chain, which forms something different to the normal fat oxidation, which can be accepted into the gluconeogenic pathway, resulting in a form of glucose. However, this is minimal and doesn't really have an effect. Atleast this is my understanding.
