The effect of lypolysis on Glycogen store regeneration is fairly minimal though. Through the gluconeogenic pathway, the break down of fats results in the oxidation of ketones and the conversion of glycerol to glucose, giving a glucose result of much less than carbohydrate meals.

I'm not quite sure what "effects" eating predominately carbohydrates after training didn't show, and I'd be interested to read the study, but the point of the matter is that eating carbs isn't going to give you strength gains (as the consumption of protein would enhance), however it is extremely important to replenish glycogen stores soon after training to better be able to back-up and train again the next day.

I agree, Wendy. There are just way too many schools of thought on this topic. In the same nutrition subject this year, we had 2 different lecturers tell us completely different ideas about the effectiveness of increased protein consumption following training and the importance of carbohydrates post session.

So what we all need to learn from this is...stuff diet, lets all get on the juice - that'll def get you strong lol.
