students in lateeto mid seventies maybe true , no hecs and living allowances tat you could rent eat and live on not now . no continuous assessment just exams .

bare minimum to pass --- the story of the med student in an oral correctly identified a tibia but when asked left or right replied "oh please I only want a pass not honours" !!

I was in group of about 30 people all gone back to study with a new lecturer as well . Set an assignment which most ended up submitting 2 pages for , the guy who submitted only a few lines started to get abused when told the lecturer to calm down I only want to see what the standard is - we only need to pass . ( he just retired from the RAAF after 30 years )

Also don't forget Melbourne is now in a 10 + year period of abnormally low rainfall
