About 12 years ago I sailed up from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket on a mates yacht. Then travelled around Thailand for a few weeks. It was awesome! Any way to Keep a long story short. When you enter a country (Thailand) by boat you must leave the country by boat but only if your captain(mate) signs you on as crew. If your a passenger you can do what you want. If you are crew (which I was) you can not leave the province or travel without permission from the port authorities and your captain. They take this kind of thing pretty serious....I found this out the hard way!

So here I was sitting (after travelling around Thailand) in the captain of the port authorities office bribing my way out of Thailand with only 2 hours till my flight left and less than 24 hours till my visa expired! Farrrrk!! So after lots of sweat, negotiating and money! (about $600 AU)..and shitting my self! I arrived at check in with only minutes to spare to be stoped by a guard and customs because my pass port didn't have a stamp on it...bribe..no stamp just a little note with his signature at the bottom ...it looked bloody dodgy! Then it hits me...The huge bundle of fireworks in my pack!! shit! I’m done for! There gonna look in my bag, I’m gonna miss my flight and my visa is about to expire! I reckon I looked pretty suss.. sweat streaming off me, red faced and the look on my face as if I was hiding something...I’m rooted!....A stern looking official walked over to me...my stomach dropped, I almost threw up...this is serious..Casually he said ' go you can go' waving his hand...I didn’t hang around that’s for sure...

So now I was faced with getting through Aus customs with a big bag of fire works (small bomb).. at least I would be in Australia..what an idiot I am and not to mention the thought of blowing up the plane!...They are going to check my bag for sure. Coming from Thailand why wouldn't they....The mind starts to go through different scenarios.. Hi mum yea had a great trip..yea can you bale me out...thanks....

Here I go..I walked through customs, no bag check, no lines, nothing... just a shit load of grief! Wow! Man I was lucky very very lucky. I was young and dumb. I still have them stashed away as a reminder... and they were pretty crap any way...
