Whew! That certainly is a lot of typing.
Of course there were no market gardens when Lt Cook sailed in. Any land being used commercially was cleared at some stage. The problem is with the ongoing clearing of new land.
It's late so I'm not going to start itemising, but maybe take a look at this report, which lifts much of its information from a 600-page UN report released a couple of years ago, "Livestock's Long Shadow".
