Curious to know if people find mental training exercises useful for climbing? Horst's 'Training for climbing' and IIgner's 'The rock warriors way' suggest this is the most important aspect of training.
Techniques like visualisation (imagining yourself sending a route in detail before you climb) and yoga-esque relaxation are touted but I don't know of many climbers that use them.
I personally have a superstition that I perform better if I'm negative and overestimate the difficulty of a climb! |
