Yes - I have seen the film - it is not Hollywood - but European. I thought the equipment looked very genuine for the time. It also seems quite accurate historically except for the love interest which I don't think intrudes too much into the actual climb. Not long before watching it I had re-read the "White Spider". On the other hand, for a good laugh, some people may prefer "Vertical Limit", which I think is on TV this week.... Dave
