thats seems a pretty outrageous statement to me.
Rings, and with well designed belay stations it will allows them a option to retreat wont it?
lowering off rapping one bolt isn't preffered, but it is possible. if things are going wrong, atleast they have that option.

in terms of a fatality, can you be abit more specific on what you mean?.
if the route is well marked out and described in the guide book. competent climbers climbing this grade should be able to get to the top.

guidebook misinterpretation can and does happen at any level of climbing and at any difficulty. it's not the route, but the climber(s) judgement that would result in a serious incident.

it is a pretty atmospheric and at times intimidating area, and that alone would deter climbers who aren't ready for the adventure/challange.
