I wish I had of taken that style of response when I was working as a mechanic.
I asked the boss for a small pay rise for him to reply that he was a bit tight for money and couldn't really afford it.
2 weeks later he bought an 80 series toyota landcruiser so he could take his son and friends to private school sport on Saturdays. ( the statesman must have been a bit small) 3 months later he then took his family to Europe on holidays for 3 weeks.
I could have quite happily pushed that Landcruiser off a cliff somewhere.
