Hi Sara, i don't know if this is gonna be useful to you in the future but i have recently started using a training aid called Clip Drop Technique. Its designed to help you learn to fall, get use to falling and to finally fall above your gear safely and effectively. i have started using this in the gym on easy over hung bolted climbs at the start of my gym sessions and found it really helps to clear the head space and get use to falling above gear. i know its on bolts but least you can make a start on the whole falling thing.
