If it is just in the pan you are lucky. There are 3 options all 'fairly' cheap:

$$$ = find replacement pan at wreckers.

$$ = If pan is steel (test with magnet if in doubt), remove pan and have the crack welded over by workshop (welded by friend/self = $0 so even better). THIS IS THE BEST OPTION. If pan is aluminium, you can still weld it but not every workshop can do.

$ = remove/clean and use high temp epoxy to plug crack. Note if alum or steel and get suitable high temp epoxy that is chemically inert to trans fluid.

Povo option, assuming hairline crack...
Remove pan, clean thoroughly, smear silastic gasket around cracked area. Monitor your dodgy work for future failure and don't park on your friends expensive textured driveways. Be warned that silastic can gum up tranny internals if you smear on inside of pan.

Also use some silastic gasket to seal around edge of pan when replacing.

Make sure you know what type and how much fluid you need to refill trans. Buy this BEFORE pulling off pan... otherwise you will have to walk up to the shops...
