Go to a wreckers and get a price for a sump. Depending on how old the van is, it may not be too hard to fit yourself. It shouldn't drop all the oil in a night. I had a constant oil leak on my old 4WD, and would top up with oil every week rather then fix it. Was fine. Mechanic told me even to put a bit MORE oil in, anticipating that it would slowly leak out.
