These things are so expensive - what would happen if a bunch of people got together and hired a space and build a bouldering wall.... if everyone who joined paid for the rent and upkeep would you need insurance?

I understand what Ant is sayin about "the family" being a bit more of a worry than the climber themselves, but having said that, is there a way to organise something so that noone is directly responsible and that the space is open to a select few and not really managed by anyone?

I wonder (out loud) how much an inner city space would be worth, and split among a few how it would stack up against the $16 you pay to get into the gym ($12.5 if you get a 10 pass). I'm pretty sure you'de find that you'de need a fairly good group of people before a thing like that got off the ground - for the rent alone... before you buy any wood or holds?

I know many people with a woddy. They just dig on climbing and build them. But after a while people loose motivation for that woody become they lack variation, and they lack interaction. Imagine a giant woody space where your friends all trained?? Wouldn't that be great??
