Sorry I've come so late to the party but I've been busy, by the way this has nothing to do with the VCC it's my own opinion. I worked in the Mill since the day it opened to the day it was taken over by Cliffhanger. I was causally employed, went to full time, went to OH&S officer, assisant manager to manager so I've got some ideas on the issues. Basically running a gym is bloody expensive and most climbers are cheap (I know I am). Also there just not enough room here to explain all the litigation issues involved, if you really need to know I suggest try starting your own gym and see how easy it isn't! I'm trying to start my own climbing instruction business and it's a nightmare, most insurers want nothing to do with climbers.
PS Dan insurance broker huh! You couldn't direct me to an APRA approved insurer could you?
