jgoding You seem to have made quiet a few assumtions with your post to me. I advise you read my post again, do a bit of research and stop listening to the sales pitch of the experts from Hilti/Ramset etc. I understand how chemsets are used in an industrial setting. I thought the paranoia was about carrots, isn't that the justification for them not to be used? Glue in U's and P's are a time bomb and about as short sighted as putting in mild steel carrots. The only saving grace is that most of the worthless routes that have been put up in the Gramps in the last few years will fade into obscurity once the consumer climbing masses move on to their next (SAFE) adventure.
