I got knocked off leading a climb by a top ropers rope once, no 'rope below' or nothing. An almost body lenght fall onto a horizontal double zero C3. If it had of popped I was decking, and the climb was at my limit at the time. I was shittin myself, and just sat in the rope for a while, swearing up at the cliff top and debating whether to keep climbing or lower off.

Then when the idiot got to the bottom of the cliff via the decent gully, he starting yelling that he had set his rope up first and to get of his climb, or he would undo the anchor!!!!

It turns out this guy hadnt even heard of lead climbing before, and was most apologetic when we told him what leading was, and what he had done. He had bought a top rope starter kit and had been climbing outside for only a few weeks.

Thats the trouble with idiot proof bollards at Morialta, you can act like an idiot and still use them.
