I dont trust a tick mark or a chalked hold... to many times an onsight has been lost because of the confusion of chalked holds that arn't really holds and tick marks that are for some one else...bird shit can do it as well! Look at the rock and the sequence.. I find onsighting is hard with or with out chalk...
