http://www.ukclimbing.com/news/older.html?month=12&year=2008#n45496 Ben Bransby & Pete Robins both repeated The Promise "ground-up" with minimal or no mats. Robins thought it only E7!! The big difference seems to be whether you have faith in the crucial runner, James didn't while the four subsequent repeaters all tested it and found it to be good. Makes a big difference to the E-number if you're sure you won't deck. Walk of Life at E12? If Dave Mac can lead it first try, second day I would suspect not but once again, this may come down to how much faith you have in the pro. That's one of the factors that make the UK system quite hard to understand, even for people who live with it all the time.
