One idea - Do a basic course - tope rope or basic lead or go to araps and hire a guide. The guys here can suggest a few. I'm not based in vic any longer. How long you stay with it will depend on how keen you are (of course) but also how quickly you meet up with like minded types. That's the crux really it's all about enjoying it with others who dig it. Oh and get outside. You've just scatched the surface. Hope you get as buzzed by the whole thing as we all do.
