Gosh. I remember when life was that black and white. You'll understand when you're older sonny. There's a whole world out there. Don't be so myopic.

For the record, I'm a part time climber. When I make time for it - I push it. I lead at my limit pretty much every time. And this approach serves me well in life. I wake up next to a beautiful woman. I eat whatever the hell I want when I get up. For most of the week I work with great people in an organisation that is doing important work for less fortunate people around the world. I train indoors so I'm better outdoors. Good shiraz beats beer in the pines any time (though I enjoy both). Steak - take it or leave it. Food is the one true love for many poeple and if you can cook you'll understand why. From all of us out there living life in all sorts of ways (and I'll bet this includes most armchair critics like yourself) lose the chip on your shoulder and you'll enjoy life and climbing a whole lot more. Life will put a chip on the other shoulder - if you insist.
