i once was climbing with a junior in a gym while waiting for my partner to turn up. she belayed fine but lowered me really fast. i was quite pissed off. she had climbed for years and i had seen her belay many times before. she was just showing off. don't mess around with belaying it is not worth it. i have seen far to many ground falls directly related to lazy belaying.
