As a 'silent chockstoner' from ' way back' , and a 'sympathizer' of both Neilmont' AND
'dinkum' Dave , I hereby contribute the following : 1) The 'paranoia-isation' of the Re
-Bolting forum is 'not helpful' for anyone in or outside the 'climbing community'
2) Creating an 'al Qaeda' zone will only 'inspire' the real zeals in DOT-GOV to pursue
the self-labelled ' Bolting Renegades' , with even more vigour , as you and your fellow
warm 'n' fuzzy 'pocket-pissers' , go from being harmless week-end anarchists to being
PERCEIVED as very real legal-rational threats to the State of Victoria , and elsewhere.
3) Much better to leave the,sometimes very healthy and 'robust' debate, of the Re-Bolt
-ing forum, 'open' so that a broard ' workable middle ground' (Mikl---bless him), can be
maintained for ultimate benefit of 'climbing AND the environment' (Baxter---ditto)
4) For your more 'covert' thoughts and operations , simply private-email each other.
5) 'Going underground' when DOT-GOV is aroused, only leads to the usual result :
it stuffs it up for everyone.
6) Finally , to Neilmont' : (very) good to see that you understand, and encourage
respect for, the best reality that sport-climbing is an ALTERNATIVE to trad and
not the final 'template' that should,eventually,be applied to ALL rock climbs.
