Lots of name dropping on this thread :-(
Steve wrote an article in Rock after the first free ascent of Ozy which plainly states his hope for the future of the route..in summary it was that any future aid ascents remain hammerless, and no further damage to the rock occur.
Just don't damage the rock any more, whether you remove fixed mank or leave it there. I thought there was plenty of gear for a free ascent without the fixed wires etc, at least on Ozy Original (that didn't stop me clipping them though!!). It's the most amazing free route and should be left as is. |
