I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about, but it could be the people who bought the block to the North of Mitre Rock. They're climbers, and we were talking to them a few months ago, after seeing them wandering up from camping in that block/paddock. I think they might have had plans of building a house there - not sure if they were planning to move there permanently, or just use it as a holiday house - recollections are a bit vague.
