yeah, i thought that whole being able to withdraw thing didn't really make much sense. if this is compulsory wording, i wonder if he has described this "announcement" in his user profile as a way of meeting the ethical requirements? if this is supposed to satisfy the standard of an ethical request for people's voluntary involvement, it doesn't really cut the mustard - I would never had seen it had it not been drawn to my attention in this thread by a fellow chockstoner, and the option to withdraw seems meaningless, as you say billk. Well, i guess he's learnt one thing about the climbing community....
