BUMBLY IS A PROUD TRADITION.
a bumbly enjoys climbing, doesn't chase grades, knows how to use nuts and hexes, can do a dulfersitz abseil if necessary, wears a helmet, still regards 19 as the hardest climb in australia, is happy to take extra time over pro and forever setting up belays if necessary, and ends up alive at the end of a long and UNillustrious climbing career.
A bumbly is like commercial television, with endless fiddling with passive pro instead of ads, which enable the belaying bumbly to roll the occasional cigarette (with the other bumbly tied off of course)
i am a proud bumbly (with secret aspirations to cross the 20 barrier but an unwillingness to train)
Bumblyness can be related to age , physique (slab instaed of six-pack), attitude (they would regard their family as more important than their climbing) , or it may even be that the monkey instincts are absent but there is still a pleasure in the vertical.
In essence a bumbly is a cross between a climber and a bushwalker (and can probably start a fire with wet wood and no paper).
another possible definition of a bumbly would be someone on the committee of the VCC. ie someone who has grown up enough to consider others not just themselves.
BUMBLIES FOREVER!!! |
