trip to sth america - give yourself 3-4 weeks. need time to acclimatise. learn some spanish. its very handy. recommend bolivia or peru. bolivia is cheap and access is easily arranged. easy to acclimatise as most of the country is around 4000m the capital LaPaz is around 3800m. there is a guidebook called Bolivia - a climbers giude (or somethiing like that) written by yossi brain.
climbing season june july
peru is apparently awesome too witha few more people. let me know if you have any questions. these countries tend to be beurocratically easier than asia. no permits required either.
