All this said, all the complaints made, all the bickering between paople, the fact remains....
The prices have gone up, as far as I can tell, for good reason. There's only so long a gym can run with prices that low, now they're at level with the other gyms, so I'm guessing it's going to come down to convenience of location or the climbing quality... which in turn I guess will make each gym work harder at setting quality routes. Therefore, it'll end up being good for the punter!
Just a couple of things I've noted however:
Since the new year (and price rise)
I've seen a lot more staff (which = more $ accounted for)
I've noticed that there's been a fair bit of maintenance. (new toilets in the ladies, painting, a few new belay repairs... etc) = even more $ accounted for.
I see the justifications, others don't want to pay more, fair enough... your choice. But how about we all stop whinging and whining and simply get on with the business of climbing!
Oh, and just as an afterthought.... Public Transport ticket prices have gone up, as they do regularly (as the service gets WORSE), My chiro charges more per session now, petrol is hiking in $, everything's gone up..... except my wages.... fact of life.... let's all just deal with it. |
