We normally bring a 20L plastic container of tap water with us, which only cost us about $15 - cheaper than buying spring water all the time and more environmentally friendly. We keep our rubbish in the car at night, and we’ve never had any problems with possums. I think the bins should go – if you have room in your car to bring food with you, you should have enough room for your rubbish. Leave as much packaging at home as you can and if you’re concerned about the smell – get a zip lock bag. Then you can put your organic waste in your compost bin or worm farm when you get home and recycle your bottles (if you live in SA you even get paid for them!). People used to put ridiculous stuff in the recycling bins e.g. old tyres!
