I don't see the point of a detailed bouldering section without using an established grading system. Anyone who doesn't care about grades can just wander around and boulder to their hearts content anyway (it's not exactly hard to find boulders within farting distance from the pines).

So what if people use grades as a mark of their skill (and, as wankers apparently do, like to let others know about it). But the most important thing is that grades help find the best routes to do. I reckon most people enjoy problems around their limit.

So grades would actually help locate the best problems to do.

The three grade system suggested (easy, med, hard) is just a poor and pretty useless version of a grading system anyway. So if you omitted specific grades, I would suggest simply replacing the whole section containing problem descriptions with a one-page topo of all good boulders at araps (no route descriptions), people don't need a guide book to tell them about aesthetics, which is a personal thing anyway. Actually this topo page would be good regardless.

I also suggest a star rating system. Some Font guide books do this and it's good. The more info you can include on a route/problem the better.
