I think it's unfair on foreign visitors (mostly euros) to limit the guidebook to the ethics of the area. As long as people are enjoying what they are doing, and they are doing it safely and without causing problems for other people - I don't know why there would be any concerns with accommodating for everyone. Essentially, the guidebook is for people foreign to the area right? Most locals would know what's what and how much gear it's got and how hard it is and wouldn't need the guide anyway - but for people who've never been to the area or don't frequent the area it's extremely handy to have a guide.
