I guess I have been to concerned about me and not really looking at the real issue.
The price, the facility are what it is about. As you know I work in a gym and have done so for a while, I guess, because I am in the gym alot I see things differntly.

Where I work there are never unpaid staff members, I have been told that this is the case due to workcover / insurance. it was explained to me this way. -" a punter comes in and there is a spinner on the wall, he gets the alan key and tightens it up, he tightens it up so tight that the next person to boulder / climb pulls on it and the hold either smacks the boulder in the mouth and there are broken teeth, or the climber who is leading at the time, pulls on the hold and it blows apart and he was just about to clip, the belayer gets shatterd hold in his face and the climber is dropped" then the insurance peeople look at the maintainenece log and there is no record of the person who tightend the hold, so then there is a problem. An if an unpaid person should fall during route setting, he will not becovered by work cover as he is not on the pay role.

So the frequency of ruote setting is less than required and I also said in a prevoius post that sometimes there is not money in the route setting budget.

I remeber the Mill, early days and later days, yeah the numbers went down, there was agroup of regulars always there and I have seen many of them at VR, sometimes you get confortable with the gym you go to and you dont want to go anywhere else. I now see that the price increase is affecting people.

If I had to pay to climb each week I guess that if I was paying $16bucks I would be looking for more, and I guess I would be looking else where as all gyms are athe same price give a few cents and I think, that the others have a bit more to offer for their money.

I rang other gyms today to see what they have, what new has been done and it seems that both the othre gyms have had lots done, new routes and both have new bouldering areas and both have good discounts.

I wont say where I work as I dont want the crap attached with the place I work, Iam hiding behind chockstone,

well ,as I sad before ,give them a chance to do what they say they are going to do
