preplaced gear on a route!!!!

i think this is refered to as "pink pointing".

Pinkpoint: Climbing a route from bottom to top without falling, but with the quickdraws or other gear already in place. 'John didn't redpoint that route, he pink-pointed it. He's a total poser. See also 'redpoint' and 'draw-monkey.

most "hard" climbs are done this way. all those climbers think thir sooo cool climbing routes with gear in place, draws clipped ready to suck in the rope......its all just "pink pointing"

I dont understand why the climbing media havent taken to applying this "definition" when recording climbers acheivements? ie "onsight pinkpoint", "flash pinkpoint" where appropriate.

those that climb routes with pre-placed gear then claim the ascent without detailing that ALL they had to do was simply clip the rope in at the approprate time should be exposed for the frauds they are!

We want ground up ascents of Punks by people who have never seen the route, placing draws as they go...only being exposed to one hold at a time. ;-)
