Well, for example Nunawading: There is a huge area for exactly this group of climbers: kids, groups, and first timers. Next to the bouldering area. That's enough for them to start with. So why is the main room still full of topropes? It is so simlpe and safe to lead in a gym. And usually there is someone who is willing and able to set up a top-rope if needed. Or you climb a really esay route on lead and then the harder route on the same line on top rope. |
