Buffalo is decent, it'll be 10 or 15 degrees cooler than araps / gramps etc. Tasmania is a better option again, with huge variety of climbing depending where you go, and all much milder weather than you'd find on the mainland. Could try the blue mountains, some areas are very shady and cool and would fit your sport desires, but might be harder than you were hoping.
