Wow... I reckon these days you'd be hard pressed to find anything for under 200k in the Bluies. Maybe on one bedroom apartment or something. The housing market really starts in the high 200k's. The cheapest house Ray White currently has for sale between Katoomba and Mt Vic is one for 240k in Mt Vic. The next cheapest is $269k in Mt Vic. (I know this because that is a house that I'm selling!). But this really is the bottom end of the market. Most houses are over 300k. Prices in Mt Vic average approx 16% less than similar ones in Blackheath.

When I moved to Nati 11 years ago I bought a house for 37k. If I'd stayed that mortgage would have been paid off years ago! Now in Nati there's not much good property available for starters - and little for under 100k. Guiding one day a week and climbing the rest is no longer so easy! Good to have some skills or work that pays better, or enjoy renovating...
