I am actually heading off to the Navy in March, to do 7 years as a Clearance Diver. After my one year of training I have to put my preferences down to where I would like to be posted. It pretty much means I can ask for any Naval base in Australia. And I do not have to live on base. Just has to be driving distance. On top of that, we do plenty of exercises with overseas bases and foreign military, with shore leave included. Its isn't exactly the kind of rockchange meant by the OP, but I will definitely be able to access a variety of climbing a hell of a lot more than I can now!
